How important is having a portfolio ?

“I was outside a church that got hit by lightening when I was going shopping; I decided to record that and because I already worked at the BBC that got seen and then I was able to keep reporting on other things, so just film what you can.” – jono Brine

Shradha Mishra works as the communications officer for Estates & Commercial Facilities at the University of Lincoln.

Shradha graduated from Lincoln in 2013 with a BA (Hons) degree in Human Resource Management and Public Relations. Since graduating she has worked in a corporate communications role, developed her own blog and continues to gain work experience wherever possible!

Lucy Martin-Davis graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2008 with a BA in Public Relations. She is currently the marketing manager for Becton Dickinson for the UK and Ireland. Becton Dickinson is a leading global medical technology company that develops, manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents. The Company is dedicated to improving people’s health throughout the world!

Dan Clough graduated from the Lincoln School of Journalism in 2008, having been the first deputy editor of The Linc Newspaper! He now works as the Darwen reporter at his hometown newspaper the Lancashire Telegraph, having previously been a sub-editor for the Scunthorpe Telegraph and working in newspaper production hubs in Hull and then Blackburn. He also writes a column on Championship football club Blackburn Rovers!

Jono Brine works as a broadcast journalist and presenter for BBC radio Lincolnshire! He graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2013 with a BA in Journalism and majored in Radio and TV whilst at Lincoln University.

Jono has presented shows on both hospital and community radio and produced content for BBC and commercial radio stations in Lincolnshire.  He has also worked for an E-Learning company as an on screen presenter.  Jono also came runner up in the BJTC Radio News Item award in 2013, for his package on Mary Gordon.
